Barcelona made a mistake by letting Marc Guiu leave for Chelsea, according to Joe Cole. The eighteen-year-old Chelsea attacker finished the first phase of the Conference League as top scorer on Thursday.
Guiu left Barcelona for Chelsea last summer for a paltry six million euros. The dire financial situation the Catalans are in undoubtedly has something to do with this, but what makes it extra difficult for them is that the Spaniard is currently the top scorer in the Conference League.
‘When I look at Guiu I think: why did Barcelona let him go?’, Cole began in conversation with TNT Sports on Thursday. ‘This boy can be an established striker within two years. I think Barcelona made a mistake.’
