Panathenaic
Panathinaikos AKTOR will lose Matias Lessor possibly for four months, which is why he has already entered the market to fill the void in the center position.
Panathinaikos AKTOR already had his mind on the market, but the serious injury of Matias Lessor made the acquisition of a center even more imperative. The greens will lose their main player for at least 4 months and are asked to replace him immediately.
The Frenchman enters the surgery on Friday morning (20/12) to repair the problem that arose after the fracture of the fibula in the ankle, but his absence from the courts will be many months.
Panathinaikos has no other choice and has already entered the market to find a key center. The options available from free agents are not many at the moment, so he will be asked to look for solutions to break a contract.
Based on EuroLeague rules, a team can sign a player who is already playing in the competition, as long as he remains free until the end of the first round.
That is, he must have been de-registered from the roster of the team to which he belonged until Christmas (s. before the start of the 18th matchday). From then on, the new club that acquires him can declare him on their roster until the 27th matchday, which is on 2/26. Otherwise, he has the whole year until the end of February to make an addition, by a player who is not competing in the competition.
The Greens may decide to break the contract, looking at teams that are low in the EuroLeague standings, or may look at other solutions, such as a trade.
