‘The plan is for him to leave’ – Voetbal International

According to Santiago Gimenez’s father, the plan is for the striker to leave Feyenoord. The 23-year-old striker is looking for a transfer, although he is doing well at Feyenoord.

Gimenez was already close to a transfer to Nottingham Forest, but according to Christian Gimenez, Santiago’s father, he will soon take the next step. Since he returned from his injury, Gimenez has returned to shooting the old-fashioned way. Since his return, he has played 264 minutes for Feyenoord, scoring six times and providing an assist. That amounts to one goal per half.

“The plan is for him to leave Feyenoord,” Christian Gimenez said in an interview with Record. ‘The way he returned after his injury has put the market on edge again. I think he was already followed by some clubs, but this gives an extra boost.’

Gimenez senior, who was once a professional football player himself, hopes that his son can soon take the next step. ‘Santi has been playing here at the club for two and a half years now. The club is open to listening to a good offer, but we must remain calm. The market will turn around again soon and I hope it will happen. If not, no problem, he is very happy at Feyenoord.’
