From the first eight minutes, the “blue and red” took control of the match and at the same time the lead. Keeping a clean sheet, they found themselves at +2 (2-0), which at the end of the half was reduced by one goal by GS Ilioupolis (4-3).
Of course, with an excellent third period, the hosts increased the difference (10-5) to get one step closer to the ticket for the next phase of the competition.
Despite the fact that the Ilioupoli team fell behind in the last eight minutes, Panionios extended their lead to make the final 13-7.
First scorer for the team of Nea Smyrni was Karagianni with 4 goals, while for GS Ilioupolis it was Orlova with the same number of goals.
Panionios will face Alimos NAS Bettson in the quarterfinals. who on Tuesday (17/12) defeated AEK 22-4.
