The destruction that has been happening in the last twenty-four hours with a barrage of publications about the interest of top teams for Babi Kostoula, on the one hand, is not unknown to either the 17-year-old striker or to Olympiakos, on the other hand, it does not change the non-negotiable attitude of the red and whites in the slightest.
It is not an unknown entity. Equally equal. For years now – although he is still only half way to adulthood – he is not only… measurable internationally, but he experiences it at an absolutely top level. And every time Babis Kostoulas went up a level, in terms of age and especially competitively, the interest in his boss was renewed and enriched.
Indicative, because it was… universal, what happened last April in Nyon in the Final Four of the Youth League and its conquest by Olympiakos. All of Europe – literally – had emissaries, eyes and representatives during that competitive four days.
There was not one, not one, of those sent to watch the games who did not have the 17-year-old striker of the red and whites at the top of their list. No team, no scout. It doesn’t matter to refer to teams that didn’t… hide their admiration and chase their chances.
Without any luck.
This year, the… next track now found Kostoulas in the first team of Olympiakos. Initially to take the first steps and now to be, already, a structural part of it. Expectedly, because these racing jumps are constantly checked, even those who did not know him (which were few anyway), learned or are learning him.
And they are constantly renewing their presence in the games of his trophy winner Conference League. What happens lately, regardless of direction, origin and intensity, is not accidental. In less than twenty-four hours a barrage of publications involving from Manchester United – the report on emissaries of which was eventually republished in England by Greek, initially, sources and reports – to Juventus, Real and the – as he had revealed a year ago SPORT24 – Bayern.
Exactly the same universality that he enjoyed as an executive of the youth team, Kostoulas “enjoys” it at the level of scouting and checking, but also tangible interest, now also as an executive of the first team of Olympiakos.
And similar is the message of the association to those who make even an attempt to try their luck, to check data (and there are not a few), to ask, to learn. This message to those who dream of Kostoulas is absolutely telling.
“Don’t waste your time mwith questions and don’t bother. Kostoulas is out of any discussion, he is non-negotiable”.
Clear and – like the 17-year-old striker – also non-negotiable. Regardless of the level, the place and the… wallet of anyone interested. Kostoulas for the immediate future are clearly, explicitly, in every tone and style outside of any discussion.
Olympiacos is cutting it everywhere, in every direction, but also has every intention of emphasizing it in practice, preparing a new multi-year – and commensurate with his dynamics – contract for the Greek striker (as well as the other last year’s European champions in the Youth League).
