Almere City sees technical manager Hansma leave for Heerenveen – Voetbal International

Johan Hansma will switch to SC Heerenveen next summer. The technical manager of Almere City will in principle complete the season in Flevoland.

In January, Hansma signed a new contract with Almere City. Under his reign, Almere City was promoted to the Eredivisie and maintained its position last season. He started his job in Almere in April 2022. There he largely rebuilt the selection after missing out on the play-offs.

From next season, Hansma will carry out his duties at Heerenveen. He once played 227 games for that club in the first team. He also previously worked as a technical manager for Heerenveen (2010-2013). In principle, he will finish the season at Almere City. If Almere finds a suitable successor in the meantime, Hansma may say goodbye early.

Almere City dismissed head coach Hedwiges Maduro on Wednesday. The board hopes to have the new trainer in front of the group at the first training in the new year – taking place on January 3. “But we are not ruling anyone out,” said Hansma, who will be looking for reinforcements in the winter.
