‘That is different than under Ten Hag’ – Voetbal International

Rio Ferdinand has tried to explain why Marcus Rashford is heading for the exit at Manchester United. The attacker was left out of the selection for the derby against Manchester City and expressed that he was ready for a new challenge.

“Amorim must have heard or seen something off the field that he wasn’t happy with,” Ferdinand said in his podcast. ‘This manager is not the type to leave things alone. He seems very honest and straightforward.’ In this he sees a difference from his predecessor Erik ten Hag. ‘Ten Hag also did that at the beginning, being tough on players. But over time he stopped doing that consistently and across the board. Then players poke holes in your stronghold.’

‘It’s different under Amorim. He seems very direct. “You’re not playing, that’s why.” I think on the training pitch he instructed all his staff to keep their eyes open for everything. He is a man of details. He wants a harmonious environment. He comes from a culture of respect. I think something happened that has nothing to do with football.’

Rashford therefore seems to be on his way to the exit and that causes a lot of speculation. According to The Telegraph the 27-year-old Englishman has set his sights on a move to La Liga. Barcelona and Real Madrid are mentioned as possible employers. He has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Saudi Arabia.
