Bill Shankly’s Golden Age to be made into a TV series

Bill Shankly’s Liverpool era to be made into a TV series. Award-winning studio A24 is working closely with the Reds to produce a multi-episode drama in partnership with Box To Box, the studio behind the popular Formula 1 series, Drive to Survive.

The production will take place in Liverpool and Anfield and will be overseen by both the Premier League club and Bill Shankly’s granddaughter Karen Gill. The aim is to document Liverpool’s journey from a team with no destination and ambition to a world power and how everything began to change in the 60s.

The legendary Scottish manager was in charge of the Reds from 1959 to 1974 and helped Liverpool win three league titles, two FA Cups and a UEFA Cup.

Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan were able to build on the winning culture established by Shankly, adding seven league titles and four European Cups in the 10 seasons following the Scot’s departure.
