The double fine that Panathinaikos will be asked to pay for lasers and late start of the match recorded by the observer of the match against Helsinki and the total amount that the “clover” has paid so far in fines

Panathinaikos did not avoid the fine even in its previous home match in the Conference League, the one it played on November 28 against Helsinki at the Olympic Stadium for the 4th matchday of the League Phase (1-0 in favor of the “greens”).

And this is because, based on what was recorded by the observer of the match, the “clover” was punished with a new monetary fine, which reaches 65,000 euros in its entirety.

In more detail, after the disciplinary meeting on December 11 (the decisions of which were announced at noon on Tuesday, 12/17), Panathinaikos was punished with:

  • 30,000 euros for using a laser (Article 16, 2d of the disciplinary code).
  • 35,000 euros for late start of a match (Article 11, 2h of the disciplinary code, 4th observation on this specific issue this year).
  • Official warning to coach Rui Carlos Pinho Da Vitoria for late start of match (Article 11, 2h of disciplinary code).

It should also be noted that the “greens” were punished this season for another 6 home and away European games (qualifiers and League Phase), having paid 165,250 euros.

Therefore, the total amount after the new “bell” of UEFA, now reaches the 230,250 euros.

In the last season (2023/24), the “clover” was punished by the Disciplinary Department of UEFA for its matches in Champions League qualifiers and Europa League groups with nine fines that reached a total of 464,500 euros.
