‘A bit disappointing’ – Voetbal International

Eighteen-year-old Tygo Land got another chance to show himself at PSV in the cup match with HFC on Tuesday evening. The midfielder hoped to play more often in Peter Bosz’s team in the absence of Joey Veerman and Jerdy Schouten in recent weeks.

Land was allowed to participate as a substitute for just under half an hour against HFC. At the end of November he played fifteen minutes in the home match against FC Groningen. ‘It’s nice to be making minutes again. I also played against FC Groningen, but not for a while,” said Land, responsible for the assist in Ivan Perisic’s 7-0, at the press conference after the cup victory.

‘I have to make use of the minutes I get and I have to show at least a glimpse of myself to the staff and fans. It’s nice that I was able to provide an assist,” said the youth international, who hoped that he would get more playing time in the past injury periods of Veerman and Schouten. ‘You always have a beautiful picture in your head: then, to be honest, it’s a little bit disappointing.’

PSV coach Peter Bosz opts for Walter Benitez under the bar, but Joël Drommel will keep it in the cup tournament.

“But it is not a very crazy decision either,” continued Land, who played 22 minutes in the first team this Eredivisie season. ‘The trainer chooses other, experienced players. I can understand that too. For me it is a setback, but that will apply to more boys if they are not in it.’

Near future
With the transfer window approaching, Land was asked where his near future lies and whether a temporary departure from PSV is an option. ‘I haven’t had a conversation about that yet. Not with PSV or other clubs. I’m in no hurry. If a club comes, we consult with both clubs and the trainer about what is best for me. I’ll see what comes my way. “If nothing comes along or a plan I don’t feel good about, then I would just as soon be at PSV,” said the talent.

PSV talent Tygo Land is in no hurry for the upcoming transfer window.
