LIONEL MESSI
Ahead of Barcelona’s 125th anniversary, Lionel Messi has spoken highly of his former club, explaining that he feels privileged to be a fan.
Barcelona on Friday (29/11) celebrates 125 years since the day of its foundation and therefore Lionel Messi could not fail to mention the team, with which he associated his name with indelible ink.
The 37-year-old star, in a new excerpt from his interview with David Karaben, stated that he considers himself lucky, that God led him to this special club and emphasized that he is honored to be his fan.
The Argentine’s statements in detail:
“First of all, I congratulate them for these 125 years. I tell them that it is an honor to be a member of the club, to be a fan of Barcelona, I was lucky that God took me to this place and made me spend my whole life in this great club”explained Messi, who however will not be able to attend the gala this Friday (29/11) due to unavoidable commitments.
“A special club, different from everyone else and it’s hard to be a different club at the moment because of how things are handled in football today and how everything has changed. And the fact that today the first team is represented in the way we want to be and as we like it is a great source of pride”.
