With two friendly matches in Slovakia, the women’s national team completes its competitive obligations for 2024, a year that can only be considered successful, since Greece participated for the first time in playoffs for its qualification to the final phase of a major tournament.

On Thursday (28/11) and on Sunday (02/12), the “blue and white” team will face the Slovakian team in Bratislava, where the Greek delegation is already with the four new faces, as it emerged from the calls of Alexandrou Katikaridis.

The federal coach spoke on the EPO page about the upcoming friendly matches, typically stating that he wishes to evaluate through these matches “the competitive readiness in view of the Womens Nations League starting in February”.

The statements of Alexandros Katikaridis in detail

“It is very important that we are given by the Federation the opportunity to make use of the free international dates, so that the Team can be assembled in a short period of time since our last mission and we can through the friendlies with Slovakia evaluate our game readiness ahead of the Womens Nations League starting early this time in February.

At the same time, we have the opportunity to evaluate for the first time in competitions and trainings of high intensity and demands, four athletes who have presented a very good competitive image to their teams, as well as to test regular plans that we may have to follow in the new competition.

In any case, we want to close a very successful year, obtaining the best possible result, according to the goals we have set.”
