I would call this tour diverse and ambiguous or something. As, in fact, it should be in the regular championship. In my opinion, the oil painting turned out to be quite colorful. This doesn’t always happen with us. A characteristic feature of the tour is that teams trying to compete with the favorites could not keep up with the pace of the race.
In two meetings involving Dynamo and Shakhtar, more goals were scored than in the other six. However, their task was made significantly easier by their opponents from the cohort of outsiders. Only once on the tour did the guests celebrate a victory. And only once did a team lower than its counterpart in the table win.
- Dynamo – Chernomorets 3:1
- Veres – Alexandria 1:1
- Shakhtar – Inhulets 6:0
- Polesie – Zarya 1:1
- Obolon – Kryvbass 0:1
- Karpaty – Kolos 1:0
- Vorskla – LNZ 2:0
- Rukh – Left Bank 1:0
Entertainment. The teams were pleased with the abundance of dangerous moments at the goal. Most of them were in the pogrom match between the champion and the last one in the table. Almost the same number – in Rivne. The top three included the Zhytomyr game, where there were a dozen such episodes. This is followed by a duel between “Karpaty” and “Kolos” and a meeting with the participation of the leader.
In Obolon, the opponents, let’s say, fulfilled the norm for scoring chances. In Poltava, the match, in this sense, turned out below average. And I would say the worst was the match “Rukh” – “Left Bank”, in which the last of half a dozen chances took place at the beginning of the second half. But overall it was one of the most watchable rounds of the season.
Intrigue. Three times the fate of the game was decided before the break. The first Dynamo goal, scored by Vanat in the 16th minute, signed the verdict for Chernomorets. I think that Vorskla sorted it out in the 30th – when Myakushko opened the scoring: LNZ did not look capable of winning back. “Shakhtar” held out Bondarenko’s goal “to the locker room”.
Also three times everything could change in the endgame. Gutsulyak’s missed shot could have brought victory to “Polesie” in the 87th minute. On the second compensated period, Klets put the ball on top of the net through the goalkeeper, almost nailing “Alexandria”. And a minute later, Kemkin coped with Tretyakov’s shot, securing three points for Karpaty.
Logics. And this grandmother said in two. Draws in Rivne and Zhitomir looked most logical, although in both cases they would have benefited from higher results. Well, it would be strange to doubt the big score in favor of Shakhtar.
“Dynamo” could have avoided conceding, and “Vorskla” could have won more modestly.
But in the fights between “Obolon” and “Krivbass”, “Rukha” and “Left Bank” and “Karpaty” and “Kolos” the losers did not deserve to lose. The Kovalevites could have won if they had converted at least a third of their scoring opportunities.
Judging. Let’s look at two resonant moments. As always, from the point of view of my fellow consultant Eustace.
“Rukh” – “Left Bank”: penalty against the guests in the 45th minute and the winning goal. “About five years ago, alpha and omega was a game of ball, the rest was unimportant. Now you can play the ball through your foot (like here), or play the ball and then into your foot and get a penalty. Where this fine line is is determined by the referee and VAR” That is, the decision is legal.
“Veres” – “Alexandria”: penalty against the guests for Kalyuzhny’s handball in the 27th minute and 1:0. “Regarding the push by his opponent before this – 50 to 50. Hand position – normal flight: unnatural. At the same time, the so-called “random ball” has not worked for a long time” Thus, here too the decision has the right to life.
I know that this opinion does not coincide with the assessments of experts. But we see it this way and explain why. And, with all the undoubted respect for the authorities of the arbitration, Eustace was pleased with the “natural position of the hand before the biomechanical position of the body.” “This way we will move on to quantum and molecular physics.” End of quote.
Luck. “Karpaty” distinguished itself here. The unlucky Bolivar knocked on the frame of their goal twice: in the 12th minute, before the fateful goal missed by Kolos, on the post, and on the 78th minute, after it, on the crossbar.
The own goal “organized” by Udod from “Dynamo” pales in comparison with the “bouquet” from Brazhko’s post and the deadly misses of Karavaev and Voloshin. Although all this did not save Chernomorets from defeat.
Personalities. The liveliness of the tour is confirmed by the number of personalities I have highlighted – seventeen: a season record.
The brightest figure is Zubkov from Shakhtar: six participations in key moments, including four goals. Ingulets keeper Palamarchuk also showed up the same number of times, including a parried penalty kick. At the same time, he conceded six goals. Buyalsky from Dynamo has one less participation and three scoring actions.
At the level of the latter, Dakhnovsky (“Veres”) and the goalkeeper of “Alexandria” Ermakov were remembered. Next I have Gaiduchik from Veres, Karpaty goalkeeper Kemkin and, perhaps, Riznyk from Shakhtar. It is also worth noting Iede (“Vorskla”).
Vanat (“Dynamo”) was effective. The three Brazilian jokers of Shakhtar caught my eye: Eguinaldo – Neverton – Pedrinho, dancing on the “corpse” of “Ingulets”. Makhankov (“Krivbass”) deserves special mention with three important saves within a quarter of an hour, including a taken penalty.

Well, to complete the list – Budkovsky (“Zarya”), Bezerra (“Olexandriya”) and Kevin (“Shakhtar”).
Likes. Shakhtar were out of competition in attack. Behind him is Dynamo. The third one I will call “Veres”, although almost all of his chances came in the first half. Then “Kolos” and “Alexandria” were equally impressive. “Polesie” and “Zarya” were also watched.
Disappointment of the tour – “Chernomorets”: Skiba’s goal in stoppage time became his only scoring chance in the entire match. LNZ and Rukh are also in the bottom three.
Table. The failure of “Alexandria” made it possible to formalize the sole leadership of “Dynamo”. Is the third person in a dispute between two eternal favorites starting to become superfluous?
The loss of points by “Polesye” alienated it from the leading three and allowed it to pull close to the supposed last ticket to Europe “Krivbass”.
“Vorskla” somewhat protected itself from the “risk zone” by joining “Veres” and “Zarya”. The bottom five, remaining with their interests, depict running in place.
Announcements. Tour sign: “Krivbass” – “Polesie”. A “frontal” fight for this very fourth place, which may turn out to be a passage to Europe. Pepper adds that both are unlikely to achieve more in the championship.
From the point of view of the table, the Novo-Kiev derby is no less important. “Left Bank” and “Obolon” will clash in ecstasy literally on the edge of the abyss – albeit only at the equator of the season for now. But it seems in vain to expect a special spectacle from this particular pair of teams.
The rest are like the rest. But first, according to our weekly schedule, we will have Shakhtar in Eindhoven and Dynamo with Victoria. Due to the sad habit of the season, you don’t have to expect much here. It’s just curious how the leader of the UPL will look compared to the second team of the Czech Republic. Which, with our others, looked simply like a “monster”.
