Marco van Basten would make hard choices when it comes to Feyenoord’s goalkeepers at the end of the season. The analyst stated that the Rotterdam team would be better off saying goodbye to Justin Bijlow and Timon Wellenreuther.
In the Ziggo Sport program Rondo Van Basten argued that both goalkeepers do not meet his expectations. ‘The best goalkeeper is Bijlow, I would draft him. And if he gets injured too often, I would get rid of both goalkeepers at the end of the season.’
Van Basten has his reasons for this. ‘One (Wellenreuther, ed.) is not good enough, that has become apparent. And the other is injured too much, that has also become apparent. Bijlow can show it now and if he doesn’t, you will have to have two new goalkeepers next season. He has something every time. Last time he waited two months, he plays one match and the next match he is injured.’
