Mike James does not believe that Panathinaikos AKTOR would have any luck if he played a match against the Boston Celtics and explained his reasoning.

Mike James was invited to Off The RECourt Podcast by Shane Larkin and Elijah Bryant and talked about a lot of interesting things. Among other things, he answered who would prevail in a potential duel between last year’s EuroLeague champions and those of the NBA, namely between Panathinaikos AKTOR and the Boston Celtics.

Celtics would beat them by 30. OAKA and European rules? 30. It would be ugly. It’s just a bad fight. What makes Panathinaikos good is that it has a top guard. The Celtics have the best defensive guards in the world. Jrue Holiday is amazing.

With that out of the way, let’s move on to position three. Who will tag Tatum and Brown? Grigonis? Will Lesor or Mitoglou tag Porzingis? Will Nunn tag Tatum? He is athletic, but he is short for this marking. He would stop him at times, but… And if Nunn is there, then who’s going to tag Jrue and Derrick White? Because that counts too.

I think the size of the Celtics in Europe would be crazy. Their shortest player is Jrue, who is 1.93m. And in attack it would be crazy. If the Celtics were playing substitutions, then should Mitoglou post Jrue? Good luck. Holliday is the strongest man I know.

Panathinaikos can get some wins against someone else. Good EuroLeague teams could get 20-22 wins in the NBA, under NBA rules. They would get wins just by playing harder. “If you play hard in the NBA, you can get 15-20 wins, just because you play hard.” explained the talented Monaco guard.
