This is what the thirteenth round in the Eredivisie looks like – Football International

On Saturday at 4:30 PM, Go Ahead and Almere City will restart the Dutch competition. These are numbers ten and seventeen in the Eredivisie respectively. Last season, Almere managed to score a point twice against the team from Deventer.

Feyenoord will receive a visit from SC Heerenveen on Saturday. This is also a reunion with Robin van Persie, the trainer of the Frisians. He left Feyenoord behind him last summer for an adventure as head coach. We find Heerenveen in twelfth place. Feyenoord is number four.

Heracles Almelo and RKC Waalwijk will also face each other at the same time. That can rightly be called a cellar cracker. The Almelo team is one point above the relegation zone. RKC is the bottom of the Eredivisie and can use the points very well.

FC Twente will visit Fortuna Sittard on Saturday at 9 p.m. Joseph Oosting’s team is performing somewhat inconsistently. Since October, it has won only twice in eight games. Of the six matches that Fortuna played in that period, it won four.

PSV will face FC Groningen at the same time. The leader is defending a five-point gap to number two FC Utrecht, which still has a match in hand. Dick Lukkien’s team started the international match well. After failing for nine games in a row, Groningen finally won another Eredivisie match (1-0 against Sparta).

Number two FC Utrecht is having a very strong season and will continue its visit to NEC on Sunday. After eleven games, Ron Jans’ team has nine wins and a draw in the Eredivisie. NEC has been scoring in recent matches. The last three matches were good for thirteen goals, including the cup match with PEC Zwolle.

AZ will visit Sparta on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 PM. With one win in the last nine matches, AZ is not in great shape. But that can also be said of the opponent. Sparta won two of the last nine. Maurice Steijn has to pull the club out of the swamp.

The Brabant derby between Willem II and NAC Breda is also on the program on Sunday afternoon. They are not only rivals, but also numbers nine and eleven in the rankings, both with fifteen points. Last season – then still in the Kitchen Champion Division – both teams won when they visited the enemy.

The Eredivisie weekend is concluded by Ajax and PEC Zwolle. The team from Amsterdam were on a good run (seven wins in a row), but drew against FC Twente just before the international break. Will it be possible to beat the number fourteen of the Netherlands?
