After a busy international period, another wonderful club football program awaits us on Saturday. Not only are Feyenoord and PSV in action, but there are also plenty of beautiful posters abroad. In the tangle of channels, competitions and matches, VI offers the reader five tips for football Saturday.
A cracker is scheduled for Saturday in Italy. On paper it is a sub-topper. The numbers six and seven are opposite each other. But true football fans know that a match between Juventus and AC Milan is always special. The fact that two internationals from the Dutch national team – Tijjani Reijnders and Teun Koopmeiners – are facing each other makes it extra special.
AC Milan – Juventus can be seen live on Ziggo Sport 1 on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Feyenoord will take on Robin van Persie’s SC Heerenveen on Saturday evening. The trainer returns to the club where he was under contract in recent years. Feyenoord performed inconsistently in the last matches before the international break and now hopes to pick up the thread again. The gap to leader PSV has increased to eight points.
Feyenoord – SC Heerenveen can be seen live on ESPN 2 on Saturday at 6:45 PM.
In England, many eyes will be focused on the cracker between Manchester City and Tottenham on Saturday. However, the Premier League match can only be seen in the Netherlands if you have a Viaplay subscription. At 4 p.m., Arsenal’s home match against Nottingham Forest will be broadcast on the open network, namely on Viaplay TV (which has replaced SBS 9). Mikel Arteta’s team is chasing their first league victory since October 5 against Forest, in fifth place.
Arsenal – Nottingham Forest can be seen live on Viaplay TV on Saturday at 4pm.
PSV will also be in action at 9 p.m. The leader will receive a visit from PhD student FC Groningen. Peter Bosz’s team recovered well after the defeat against Ajax by winning 4-0 against Girona in the Champions League and 0-3 against NAC Breda in the Eredivisie. FC Groningen won against Sparta just before the international match. Before that, it waited nine league matches for a win.
PSV – FC Groningen can be seen live on ESPN 2 on Saturday at 9 p.m.
Barcelona will also be in action at the same time. Frenkie de Jong and associates take on Celta de Vigo, the number eleven of La Liga. Barcelona is proudly leading in Spain, but lost to Real Sociedad just before the international break after seven (large) victories in a row. Will we see De Jong back in the starting line-up?
Celta de Vigo vs Barcelona is live on Ziggo Sport 1 on Saturday at 9pm.
