Fenerbahçe defender Jayden Oosterwolde feels the support of his trainer José Mourinho in the rehabilitation of his serious knee injury. The former FC Twente player received a special ‘memo’ from the Portuguese.
Oosterwolde (23) suffered a cruciate ligament injury in a league match against Samsunspor on October 20 and has started a months-long recovery. His season is already over. At Fenerbahçe they sympathize with him, he notices.
‘The first memo Mourinho sent was: fuck off Jayden. Now I have big problems. I don’t have a left back anymore. He said if he could be at the operation he would come. Unfortunately that wasn’t possible, because they had a match against AZ. I have a good relationship with him. Nice app contact too,” Oosterwolde said at ESPN.
‘He’s just a very good coach. Tactically, but also really as a human being. How he treats his players. He jokes a lot, but can also be very serious. They sometimes say that when a trainer is very tactical, he is not good at dealing with his players. But he can do both well,” said the defender, who played with Fenerbahçe in the Europa League against his childhood sweetheart FC Twente earlier this season.
