Collin Seedorf (29) is captain of the incarnate KKD club FC Eindhoven. The central defender has been a player for the Brabanders since 2018. A story with a Seedorf descendant who did not go to Ajax or PSV as a boy, but ended up in professional football via Utrecht.
Hhe story about his internship at Ajax is too nice not to mention. “You have read up,” Seedorf laughs out loud when we ask him about the accuracy of the anecdote. ‘I was fifteen when I received a letter from Ajax that I could do an internship. I had a part-time job at Albert Heijn. Around the corner, during the break I went home to eat. There was a letter there from Ajax, I opened it and read that I could come on an internship. I immediately called Albert Heijn to tell them that I was no longer coming because I had become a professional.’ Seedorf tells it with a burst of laughter. Also because he knows the ending of the story. “I wasn’t accepted.”
