Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz have reached the semi-finals of the ATP Finals in Turin. Fritz beat Alex de Minaur (5-7, 6-4, 6-3) in the afternoon, meaning Sinner was already assured of placement. The Italian himself defeated Daniil Medvedev in the evening: 6-3, 6-4.

The Russian had to beat Sinner in two sets, otherwise his tournament was over. Their standings were neatly balanced with seven victories each, although Medvedev had won only one of their last eight matches.

Sinner did not want to make a mistake at home, played strongly and in the first set he outclassed Medvedev. The Russian did not give up and tried to surprise Sinner with unorthodox play. However, the global number one did not budge.

In the match against De Minaur, Fritz, the American number five in the world rankings, struggled for a long time with his first serve and lost his serve twice in the first set, which went to De Minaur.

Fritz had already eliminated two break points in the second set when De Minaur cramped at 4-5. The American converted his third set point to level the score.

This broke the resistance of the Australian number nine in the world, who had to win in two sets to keep a view of the semi-finals. Fritz no longer had any problems in the third set and served out the match at love.
